Description

The conclusion to the mission in Utah. I certainly loved how this turned out. Especially since according to my art teacher dancing is hard to get down. The story does continue in this and has some interesting stuff that happens. It should be noted that the drink Nicholas gets in this and the song that plays all came around before 1973 which is the year this place and that the place they go to eat doesn't really exist. And all of this including the dance pose was taken from Pulp Fiction.

Very soon the group had made it in style by a very stylish limo. They all got out and looked around; this place was very different than any they had been to. Some had been here before. It was decided that since it was a first time for a lot of the foxes, that they should only stick to one area. Which was why they wouldn’t run into any trouble while here.

The first item of business was a photo shoot. Nicholas had called ahead and this was the best place to do it. As usual, one of the guys appeared next to one of the females when a together shot was needed. The same as last time. Individual shots were taken as well. Nicholas also requested that these be sent to their home as well just like the ones from Utah. When that was over, the time came for fun.

The group saw a few shows performed at their area. And because some of the vixens who were still underaged were with those that were 21 and over, they were allowed into the bars and gambling areas. Only Onyx and her family did other things since they had young kits. “So Topaz, want to see how good your luck is?” asked Nicholas as he and her approached a slot machine. “Let’s see if you can win big.”

“But isn’t this like a game of chance?” asked the vixen.

“Yeah. But you seem to have a luck streak. Who knows? Maybe one so big that karma won’t get you and you’ll bankrupt Las Vegas.” Both shared a laugh. “But seriously, let’s not make this city go out of business.”

She tired the machine and sure enough was able to win. On all of the games and at Black Jack. The others did somewhat okay at points. But they were careful to not win too big. Otherwise they might get kicked out. A few hours latter the group left, laughing, stronger in ties, and a little richer.

“I’m feeling good right now,” stated Desmond.

“You’re coming off the natural high of gambling,” explained Kane. “And it’s great cause it won’t damage your liver or lungs.”

Suddenly they heard a growl. “What was that?” asked Amethyst.

“Just my stomach growling,” explained Nicholas. “Here, let’s get a bit to eat at that place.” He pointed to a restaurant. As it turned out Onyx, Granite, Alex, and Victoria were heading in there. Everyone met up and they could see this place was called Jack Rabbit’s Slims.

The inside was a bit smoky due to the smoking but not unbearable. There were tables but also ones shaped like passenger parts of cars as well. Pictures of famous actors, actresses, and musicians were on the wall. In the center of all of this was a space for a stage. At the moment somebody was up there and singing an Elvis song. Everyone split up as they got their own tables. Onyx and her family got one for four. The rest of the vixens and the canines got ones by themselves. Nicholas and Topaz were directed to one near one of the car tables.

Both the vulpine and vixen sat down. “So, having fun here?” asked the male.

“A lot,” she answered with a big grin. “More so because like you and the others are with me. What about you?”

“Same; but I hope to have a little more fun tonight,” answered Nicholas. “As for this place here, I think it’s like a historical museum with a pulse.” Topaz grinned. The two took a look at the menus at their table just as the performance on stage ended and regular music came on. “Just so you know you can get whatever you want. It’s all on me.”

“Aw, how sweet of you,” the vixen commented. Just then a waiter came up to the two.

“Hi, I’m Buddy, what can I get for you?”

“Let’s see, I’ll have a Sprite to start with and also the Swedish Meatball plater with a side of salad,” Nicholas responded.

“A good choice sir. And for you Miss?”

“I’ll have the Durward Kirby Burger with a side of fries and the five dollar milkshake,” answered Topaz.

“Wait a sec, did you just order a five dollar shake?” asked the vulpine.

The vixen nodded. “Since they don’t have smoothies.”

“That’s a shake. That’s milk and ice cream.”

“Last I heard,” answered Topaz.

“That’s five dollars. You don’t put bourbon in it do you?” asked Nicholas to the waiter.

“No sir.”

“Just checking.”

“Be right back with your drinks.” The third person left, leaving the two foxes alone. The vulpine saw some straws next to the napkins and grabbed one. The vixen noticed.

“Can you like, maybe pass me one?”

Nicholas looked to her with a smile. “You can have this one for free.” He handed it to the female and got one for himself.

“So, you think like we’ll do well with the rest of our work?” asked Topaz.

“I think so,” stated the vulpine. “That clue we got will help a lot. Now all that has to be done is the right people to figure things out. However, let’s not talk about our work too much. In case this place has eyes and ears. So maybe you could tell me about your modeling career. What was the earliest thing you did?”

“I’d say appearing as a youngster Captain Kangaroo.”

“No kidding. I use to watch that when I was young. I remember seeing a little blond vixen with golden eyes. That was you?” Topaz nodded. “Well I guess that explains why you’re not camera shy.”

At that moment the drinks came. The two thanked the waiter and the vixen took a drink of her milkshake. “Mmmm, yummy.”

“Think I could have a sip of that?” asked the vulpine.

“Sure,” answered Topaz and moved it closer to him.

“I’ve got to know what a five dollar milkshake tastes like.” He began to take the straw out.

“You can like use my straw. I don’t have cooties.”

“Yeah, but maybe I do,” answered the male with a cocky grin.

“Cooties I can so handle.”

“Alright. Besides it’s like my mom once said; if it wasn’t for cooties, none of us would be here.” The vulpine took a good sip.

“My god, that’s a pretty damn good milkshake.”

“Told you,” said Topaz.

“I don’t know if it was worth five dollars but it’s pretty freaking good.” The two were silent for a bit while the vulpine took some sips of his soda.

“Don’t you hate that?” asked the vixen.

“Hate what?”

“Uncomfortable silences.”

“Well sometimes they’re needed for dates.” Blush lit up her face, but Topaz smiled.

“So that’s like what you think this is? A date?”

“Well we are alone, so it does count as one,” answered Nicholas, a slight blush on his face. “And I’m not taking it back when I said it last time when we got those roller blades. You don’t mind, do you?”

“No,” she answered. “Oh will you like excuse me a sec? I need to get to the ladies’s room.”

“Take your time,” stated the male. Topaz got up and left to collect herself. The thought of being on a date with Nicholas made her grin and her heart race. The vixen liked what he had stated. He in the meantime could tell that she liked what he had said. A bit latter the female came back to find her food at the table and the vulpine just beginning to eat.

“Oh I like it when I come back and my food’s here for me.”

“Or it might not have been,” stated Nicholas. “I hate it when it’s not or you see the person coming with some and it’s not yours.”

Topaz giggled. “Yeah, me to.” The two ate their food and talked a bit.

Sudden a male cougar in a suit stepped up to the mike on stage. “Ladies, and gentlemen. That moment you’ve all been waiting for. The world famous, Jack Rabbit Slims, twist contest!” The rest of those dining applauded and whistled. This got the attention of Nicholas and Topaz as they stopped eating to look up. “Now this is where one lucky couple will win this handsome trophy that Meredith here is holding.” He pointed to it held in the paws of a pretty ocelot. “Now who will be our first contestants?” The vulpine made up his mind in a split second.

“Right here!” he stated in a loud, clear voice. The vixen the male was with looked to him in shock. As did all of those in their group since they heard him. “Wanna dance?”

“Wait, what?” asked the female.

“Oh come on Topaz, you told me to take those shots with you back in Utah and I agreed to it. Now it’s your turn. Cause now I want to dance, I want to win, get that trophy and have fun, and most of all I want to do this with you. So dance good.”

“Okay then,” she responded with a grin and got up with him. The rest of the canines and vixens smiled as they saw the two come up.

“Now let’s hear it here for our first contestants!” stated the cougar as the two foxes got on the stage. The rest of the place applauded and cheered for both of them. “Now let’s meet our first contestants here this evening. Young Miss, what’s your name?”

“Miss Topaz,” stated Topaz in the mike.

“And uh, how ‘bout you’re fellow here?”

“Nicholas Russo,” said the vulpine.

“Alright let’s see what you can do! Take it away!” Both the foxes took off their shoes. The music began to play which was You Never Could Tell. Both of them knew this song since the male had played it for the female when she had first gone to his room. After the intro the words came.

It was a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished them well

You could see that Pierre did truly love the mademoiselle

And now the young monsieur and madame have rung the chapel bell,

"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

They furnished off an apartment with a two room Roebuck sale

The coolerator was crammed with TV dinners and ginger ale,

But when Pierre found work, the little money comin' worked out well

"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

They had a hi-fi phono, boy, did they let it play it

Seven hundred little records, all rock, rhythm and jazz

But when the sun went down, the rapid tempo of the music fell

"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

They bought a souped-up jitney, 'twas a cherry red '53,

They drove it down to Orleans to celebrate their anniversary

It was there that Pierre was married to the lovely mademoiselle

"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

Both of the two were tearing it up on the floor. And having the time of their lives. Her grin was big and his smile was wide. This had been a great idea to do. Even if they would’t win, it would be fun.

It was a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished them well

Latter that night found the group returning to their rooms nearby at the hotel. There had been others who had come up to dance for the trophy. But in the end Nicholas and Topaz had won it. He was now taking her back to her room. The vulpine caught the keys to the place in his paws that had been tossed by the female. The male unlocked the door and Topaz went to his side. Holding paws, the foxes entered like they were doing a slow dance waltz.

The male lead the female in and than spun her around in a circle. Topaz giggled as Nicholas did this before the two came to a stop. The vixen couldn’t help but hug the vulpine and lean on him as he straightened their bodies out. Both then pulled back, but her arms were still on his shoulders. “So, this is what you call an uncomfortable silence?” asked Nicholas.

“I like never said it was,” Topaz whispered.

“So should you keep the trophy?”

“Nah, it’s yours. You’re the one who wanted to win it. And… I like that I agreed to dance with you.”

“Me to.” The vixen gave the vulpine a kiss on the cheek.

“Goodnight Topaz,” he stated softly.

“Goodnight Nicholas,” she whispered back. The male left the room with the trophy, but not before taking one last look at her. The female did the same before closing the door. The vixen had a soft smile on her face. Slowly Topaz walked to the bed and fell on it, with her front side up. The female could feel her heart calling out to him.

I’m so happy,” Topaz thought. “Because… I love him now… I love Nicholas…”

The vulpine in the meantime slowly walked back to his room, the trophy in his paw. He was just thinking of her. “I love Topaz now,” the vulpine thought. “I really do.”

The next day was the time to go home. With these new feelings for the vulpine and vixen, they were ready for their next mission. And to figure out when to tell the one they loved on how they felt. But before that could happen, some things had to happen first.

And there you have it with the first story. Also because of the two loving in each other all bonus pics with them alone with have the letter x in the title.
